What does a supersession number mean? | PARTSinn

For some BYD entries, the provides another number in the “Supersession” field. PARTSinn preserves this information and displays it on the part page. A supersession number is not the same as a product with a similar description. Similar parts are displayed for browsing, not as confirmed interchangeable replacements. If the supplied number exists in this catalog, you can open its page. A link alone does not confirm compatibility with your vehicle. Before choosing another number, verify fitment in a VIN catalog or with a specialist. When no supersession number is provided, the catalog does not invent one.
